Position Summary

The staff Registered Nurse (RN) in the Wound Care Center will provide direct patient care. She / he will utilize skills in organization, planning, implementing, evaluating and providing care through the use of hospital and nursing standards. The ideal candidate will deliver high quality work with minimal direction, follow established Clinical Practice Guidelines (CPG) and remain flexible to the changing needs of the Center. The Wound Care Center RN fully trains to perform all duties of the Hyperbaric Oxygen RN.

Qualifications

Current RN license in the State of New Hampshire.

BSN preferred.

Basic Life Support certification required.

RN experience with wound care in a wound care center, acute care, or home health for at least three years required.

Wound Care Certification strongly preferred. Certification required within six months of hire.

Excellent interpersonal communication skills and teamwork required.

Basic competency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint as well as web based database programs and the Internet.

Ability to work a flexible schedule including afternoon hours or morning hours required.

Essential Functions of the Job
Provides direct patient care and case management to a group of patients utilizing specific assessments according to the established protocols and procedures of the Wound Care Center.
Demonstrates clinical competence in procedural skills and treatments.
Provides patient and caregiver education related to wound care management.
Acts as a patient advocate in the delivery and coordination of patient care.
Provides efficient and effective care with the guidance of the wound care center providers during the clinic sessions.
Demonstrates the ability to multi-task while managing a number of patients at the same time. Displays high energy and organization.
Collaborates with the Wound Care Center Medical Director(s) and providers, other health care providers and the Wound Care Center staff regarding clinic and patient needs.
Demonstrates the ability to read, analyze and interpret professional journals, technical procedures and / or government regulations.
Demonstrates the ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals.
Demonstrates the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from providers, managers, staff, patients, caregivers and the general public.
Functions as a resource person and role model.
Adjusts working hours to be available to the wound care center when needed.
Meets established deadlines and maintains a high degree of accountability for outcomes.
Performs duties of the Hyperbaric Oxygen RN.
Performs other duties as assigned by the Clinical Program Manager.
