Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor

Position Summary
The Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor is responsible for diagnosing substance use disorders, while providing treatment, education and support to individuals and families as well as promoting a healthy lifestyle and choices. He/she provides direct support to individuals and families experiencing substance use disorders. This may include utilizing evidenced based treatment modalities and referrals to other treatment when appropriate.
Qualifications
Degree from and accredited program
Current state licensure
Minimum 1 year of experience in a health care setting
Excellent interpersonal and communications skills
Maintain a good relationship with staff at all levels of the organization
Essential Functions of the Job
Provide drug and alcohol counseling and support to individuals and families to include:
Assess and treat patients who have been referred due to concerns about drug/alcohol use.
Provide counseling with regard to the effects of drugs and alcohol.
Accept referrals from Weeks providers and collaborate with those providers to ensure patients are receiving all needed services.
Provide group/family counseling as appropriate.
Ensure treatment guidelines are being followed.
Provide referrals to treatment programs outside of Weeks if appropriate
Assist patients in identifying their need for treatment programs.
Be knowledgeable about area treatment resources including 12 step meetings and residential and outpatient treatment programs.
Act as a liaison between the patient and treatment program.
Assist the patient in exploring available services and programs.
Manage and administer an office based drug and alcohol treatment program at Weeks
Maintain confidential electronic records of all client interactions.
Create and maintain a resource library of information about substance use disorder, prevention, and other related topics.
Member of the SBIRT team
Is a member of the team for implementation and ongoing support of the SBIRT Program (Screening, Brief Intervention, and Referral for Treatment) at Weeks.
Ensures that all patients are being appropriately screened using an approved screening toll and are referred for a brief intervention if indicated.
Provides direct counseling to those patients identified during the screening/brief intervention process.
Perform other duties as assigned.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
