Echo Technician

- CPR Required
1-2 yrs experience preferred
Position Summary
Performs all aspects of cardiac sonography, which includes transthoracic two dimensional, m-mode and doppler procedures; Transesophageal; pharmacologic/non-pharmacologic stress echocardiograms; and imaging procedures.
Completion of an approved AMA or credentialed program in cardiovascular technology;
Registry eligibility for registered cardiovascular technologist or registered diagnostic cardiographic sonographer (RDCS);
2 years experience as cardiac sonographer with advanced skills in stress echocardiograms; Adult experience required; Pediatric experience preferred (in addition to the adult experience);
Basic Life Support Health Care Provider card or obtain one within one month of hire required.
Demonstrated knowledge of cardiac anatomy and physiology, and demonstrated effective communication and human relation skills also required.
Experience with Vascular Ultrasound preferred.
Essential Functions of the Job
Required skills and competencies. Has competency checklist been completed with all competencies met (i.e. job skills / knowledge, equipment knowledge)?
Demonstrates current clinical competence and excellence in clinical practice.
Operates sophisticated processor based ultrasound and doppler equipment to acquire cross-sectional, two- dimensional m-mode and doppler recordings.
Performs quantitative measurements and calculations of acquired data and provides preliminary reports from data collected.
Performs stress test echocardiograms and assists in contrast and transesophageal echocardiogram procedures.
Prepares equipment for the procedure to be performed.
Provides education to patients/families regarding the procedures that are being performed.
Cleans and disinfects probes and decontaminates exam area.
Participates in the training of echocardiographic techniques and procedures.
Maintains logs of patient data and files reports.
Cleans and maintains equipment.
Orders and restocks supplies.
Assists in other areas of Cardiology Services as needed.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
